Q: What is VIOlight and do I need it?Anyone concerned with good health and hygiene should invest in the VIOlight system as it is proven to help reduce the spread of germs that can cause sickness (i.e., e.coli, botulism, salmonella, etc.). It’s ideal for family health as it holds up to four toothbrushes (child and/or adult sized) and can even accommodate electric brushes. Q: How does VIOlight work and is it really effective?VIOlight uses the same germ-fighting technology found in hospitals and dentist offices — germicidal UV light bulb power— to prevent the spread of harmful bacteria. Clinical studies confirm that the VIOlight eliminates up to 99.9% of bacteria within a 10-minute timeframe. Q: Does the VIOlight hold electric toothbrushes?Yes. The VIOlight can accommodate most electric toothbrush heads. Some heads may require the use of our special VIOpegs. Four VIOpegs are included with every Sanitizer. The VIOpegs are easily inserted into the slots on your VIOlight which will hold your electric toothbrush heads. Q: Is the VIOlight battery operated or does it use a plug? The Violight is powered by standard household electricity. It draws very low current through a removable, 6-foot wall plug. Q: What is the voltage? The Violight operates on 120V current only. The adapter fits standard USA-type wall sockets only. Q: How do I know the VIOlight really kills germs on my toothbrush? The VIOlight has been tested extensively by independent laboratories. DOWNLOAD the results by clicking here. Q: Will I have to spend more time caring for my teeth using VIOlight? To use the system, all you have to do is brush, rinse, store and — with the push of a button — the sanitization process begins. When sanitization is complete, VIOlight automatically shuts itself off in 10 minutes. Q: How large is the VIOlight unit and will I need to make room for it in my bathroom? Each VIOlight unit is the size of an average cup, with skid-proof bottoms and a frosted top that glows with a blue/violet hue when the system is in use. Since VIOlight is also a storage facility for your toothbrush, you can simply use it to replace your current holder. Q: How do I clean and maintain the VIOlight?Inside the VIOlight is a removable drip cup. The drip cup can be rinsed occasionally when needed. Q: How often do I have to change the UV Bulb?We recommend changing your UV bulb every 18 months. Even though the bulb is rated at 2000 hours, which would give you many years of regular use, changing the bulb every 18 months will ensure that your bulb is providing maximum germ-fighting efficiency. Check your bulb here. Q: How much are new bulbs? Where can I get them?New bulbs are $11.95 and are available here. Q: What's included with my VIOlight? The VIOlight Box includes the VIOlight silver base, translucent cap with safety lock, reflective drip cup for easy cleaning, 4 VIOpegs for some types of electric toothbrush heads, the VIOlight germicidal ultraviolet bulb, 120V AC power adaptor with 6-foot cord, and an owner's manual.
